Tray Icon Overview
The Copernic Desktop Search tray icon ( )
is located in the Windows system tray. It allows
the software to detect new and modified files constantly,
including new emails received or sent, in order
to index or re-index them on-the-fly depending
of the case. The software also monitors CPU activity
constantly in order to throttle back as necessary.
Note that the tray icon is different when an index
updating is in course.
You can double-click the icon to open the program's
main window. You can also right-click it to display
the shortcut menu.
The right-click menu features these useful commands:
- Open Copernic Desktop Search: Opens
the program's main
window.
- Indexing Status: Opens the Indexing
Status window.
- Pause Indexing: Pauses the indexing
process. If indexing is manually paused by the
user, it has to be restarted manually.
- Update Index: Updates the entire index
or specific topics based on your selection (Entire
Index, Emails, Files, Music, Pictures, Videos,
Contacts, Favorites, History).
- Help: Displays the Copernic Desktop
Search help topics.
- About: Displays information about Copernic
Desktop Search version and copyrights.
- Exit: Closes the software.
