Options Window Overview - General Tab
This tab features three sections with multiple
options. Check or uncheck check boxes corresponding
to options to be customized.
General
- Load at Windows startup: Starts Copernic
Desktop Search when you log on to Microsoft Windows.
- Display all items when no query is entered:
Displays all indexed documents in the result section
when no query is entered.
- Perform last query when changing categories:
Reuses the current keywords to perform a search
in a different category.
- Automatically select first search result
in the result list: Expands the search
results list (if it was collapsed) and selects
the first matching result automatically.
- Show preview pane: Shows the preview
pane under result lists of Files, Emails, Favorites
and history categories.
- Auto scroll to first match in the preview
pane: Automatically scrolls to the first
instance of a search keyword in preview panes
of the Emails, Files, Favorites/Bookmarks and History categories.
- Show text labels on toolbar buttons:
Shows text labels on toolbar buttons.
- Remember search terms: Remembers the
last queries, provided they were typed in the
Copernic Desktop Search window (and not the deskbar).
The Clear search history link can be used
to erase all saved search queries instantly for
each search box of the software.
Buttons to Display
This section contains the list of buttons that
can be displayed on the toolbar of the Copernic
Desktop Search main window. They refer mainly to
each search category. Select the check boxes of
the buttons you want to show on the toolbar.
Highlight
This section allows you to change the colors for
highlighting keywords in the software. Just select
the color to be changed and choose a replacement
in the Colors window.
Remember: You cannot use a search category
from the software main window unless it is displayed
in this window.
When the customization is finished, click OK to
close the Options window.
