Main Window Overview - Web Search Category
The Web Search category allows you to search
the Web in pre-defined domains of interest. These
domains may differ substantially over the course
of time.
Performing Searches
The Search
for section lets you enter a query in a
search box. It also features four search domain
buttons with icons located on the right side
of the search box.

- Type the query terms in the keyword box, or
click the down arrow and choose terms in the
search history. You can search
operators, such as Boolean operators, parentheses
and quotation marks to refine your query depending
on the Web search engine that will conduct your
search.
- Select the appropriate search domain button
to launch your query on the Web.
Browsing Through the Results
The main section of the interface features a basic
browser to display the search results, namely the
list of Web pages that match your query. This tool
allows you to browse through the results by clicking
them and using navigation tools located right under
the Search the Web title bar.
The
following navigation buttons are displayed
on the left side of the Search for section:

- Back button: Returns to the last page
you viewed.
- Forward button: Returns to the page
you viewed before clicking the Back button.
- Stop button: Stops loading the selected
page.
- Refresh button: Gets the latest online
version of the currently opened page.
The two additional navigation tools are located
on the right side of the Search for section:
- Address Bar: Displays the address of
the currently opened Web page. You can use the
address history to select addresses of Web pages
recently visited.
- Open in new window (
):
Opens the current page in a new browser window
(Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla
or Netscape 6.x/7.x/8.x).
Note that you can use directly the Internet Explorer
right-click menu in this section to use additional
commands.
