The advanced option tab features three sections that enable you to
customize the software. Check or uncheck check boxes corresponding
to options needing to be customized and, if needed, modify or add
parameters corresponding to your needs and preferences.
File Indexing
- Do not index contents of files or attachments larger than X MB:
By default, Copernic Desktop Search does not index documents larger than
50 megabytes. You can modify this limit at your convenience. If you
deactivate this option, the software will index documents of all sizes.

allows Copernic Desktop Search to index text file types other than the
predefined ones. Use the file extension formatting .xyz and separate

This option allows Copernic Desktop Search to index file types other
than text file in order to retrieve these files more easily with the
program. It will index file information only, such as name, program size
and date modified. Use the file extension formatting .xyz and separate
each file extension by a semicolon (;).
- Music Files types to index: This option allows you to add or
remove music files types. Use the file extension formatting .xyz and
separate each file extension by a semicolon (;).
- Video file types to index: This option allows you to add or
remove video files types. Use the file extension formatting .xyz and
separate each file extension by a semicolon (;).
- Picture file types to index: This option allows you to add or
remove picture files types. Use the file extension formatting .xyz and
separate each file extension by a semicolon (;).

10 seconds.
Index
The Index Folder field indicates the complete path to the folder
that contains index files.
To modify the location of the index files:
- Click Change. The Select Index Folder window appears.
- Browse to the new destination folder.
- Click OK to confirm. The Select Index Folder window will automatically close.
Copernic Desktop Search needs to restart for this change to take effect.
The Clear index contents and reindex all files and folders link
allows you to rebuild your index automatically. When the customization is
finished, click OK to close the Options window.
